At Litera, we're always focused on enhancing the experience for legal professionals, ensuring that our tools evolve to meet the demands of today's fast-paced legal industry. Our Q3 release introduces significant updates to some of our most popular drafting tools: Litera Compare, Metadact, and pdfDocs, with exciting updates coming soon for Litera Numbering. These updates not only streamline workflows but also provide performance improvements that save time and ensure greater accuracy.
New Features and Enhancements
Litera Compare
As the market leader in document comparison, used by 75% of the legal industry, Litera Compare continues to innovate:
- Text-Based PDF Comparisons: We’ve integrated PDFNet, a powerful tool that automatically converts text-based PDFs to Word documents, enhancing the accuracy of text comparisons. Users can also switch between PDFNet and Kofax for scanned PDFs, ensuring flexibility and precision.
- Enhanced Redline URL Security: For those using Litera Compare Server, new controls ensure confidential information within redlines is protected when shared via URL.
Metadact
Metadact provides seamless metadata cleaning and data loss prevention within Microsoft Outlook. This quarter’s update offers:
- Customizable Binder and Closing Book Creation: With Attachment Manager, users can now customize separator pages and the Table of Contents when binding multiple attachments into a single PDF. Customize document names, fonts, and even add your firm’s branding for a professional finish—all without leaving Outlook.
pdfDocs
pdfDocs streamlines PDF workflows and automates tasks like editing, redaction, and binder creation. Our latest updates include:
- Deeper iManage Integration: Users can now save and collate documents from the iManage Work Web right-click menu, making workflows more intuitive.
- Improved DocuSign Integration: The smoother integration between pdfDocs and DocuSign simplifies the process of securely signing documents, reducing the number of clicks and enhancing the user experience.
Coming Soon: Litera Numbering
Efficient document formatting is crucial, and Litera Numbering is designed to help legal professionals seamlessly manage numbering schemes, Table of Contents, and DocIDs. Here’s what’s new:
- Continuation Styles: A feature brought back from our legacy tools, Innova and Forte, Continuation Styles will ensure consistent styling for paragraphs following numbered lists, saving time while maintaining document quality.
- Performance Boosts: Significant improvements will include a 45% increase in the speed of actions from the Numbering ribbon and a 90% improvement in DocID insertion. Opening documents from a document management system (DMS) will be 40% faster.
